Hispanavision, is a group of 24-hour a day Spanish language broadcast television stations headquartered in Yakima, Washington. We reach 100% of all television households in Yakima County via a broadcast signal and cable TV. We also reach the Tri-Cities area via a broadcast signal and cable TV via our sister station there. Yakima County has an estimated permanent resident Hispanic population of about 125,000. This does not include the migrant farm workers (mostly Hispanic). Our signal reaches 225,000 Hispanics in South Central Washington State plus North Central Oregon State. Our schedule features a wide range of programming including novelas, talk shows, original sitcoms, sports, movies, and musical programs. We have been broadcasting Spanish language television programming in this area for over 20 years. We are by far the oldest Spanish language television broadcaster in the entire Pacific Northwest.
We are the only locally owned and operated commercial television station in the area. We have both broadcast and cable coverage. Broadcast television coverage is important because a large percentage (%) of Hispanics do not subscribe to cable or satellite dish. For those homes viewing only broadcast stations, we have a very strong digital broadcast signal that covers all of the Yakima metropolitan area, and the mid and lower Yakima Valley. Our programming also airs in the Tri-Cities (Richland, Pasco and Kennewick), and many of the smaller cities north and northeast of the Tri-Cities.
For those Hispanic households which do subscribe to cable, Hispanavision is available on Channel 7 on J & N cable, covering the North Yakima County areas of Cowiche, Tieton, Naches, Gleed, rural Selah, and the Nile. We can also be viewed on Channel 17 of Charter Communications Cable system throughout the Yakima Valley. In the Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, Hermiston, and Pendleton, Charter carries us on channel 98.
